Who Are We?

Attainment Company is a socially responsible and family-owned business that, over the last 40 years, has kept up with advancements in software and technology to meet our customers’ needs. Starting the business in 1979 with work activity kits focused on pre-vocational skills, Don Bastian expanded our product line to focus on functional life skills, assistive technology devices, research-based and empirically validated curricular resources, and products to increase employability among students and adults with disabilities.  Attainment Company’s mission is to empower people with disabilities across the lifespan in becoming active participants in school, work, community, and life.

Why did we choose 3D printing?

Over the last few years, Attainment Company has discovered a wide range of uses for 3D printing, ranging from product prototyping and Braille tiles to geometry shapes and fidget creation.  Attainment Company loves how 3D printing allows for customization and local manufacturing, as well as its alignment to our company values and overall mission

So what is Supported Printing?

At Attainment Company, we've been working with supported employees for over 30 years. Supported employees are people with unique needs who receive on-the-job support to maintain employment.  We strongly believe that people with disabilities are employable when given the right support to obtain and maintain a job that matches their skills, interests, and support needs. Luckily, many of the tasks related to our 3D printing projects are a perfect fit for supported employees and our hope is to one day have Supported Printing projects completely run by our supported team!

Is it dangerous?

The supported employees are never working with or near dangerous chemicals and only interact with machines and products when it is entirely safe to do so.

What happens when I place an order?

A supported employee may be involved in various tasks such as cleaning, assembling, packing, and shipping your order, but their involvement may vary depending on availability, workload, and the specific products ordered. Our goal is to increase the involvement of supported employees in all aspects of our business, so keep the orders coming to help us grow!
